Information on Acquisition of Carpets

The carpets are mostly collectors’ items.  To us, they tell stories of lives lived long ago in an exotic but harsh part of the world that has become increasingly important to us as citizens of the United States and the World.  Visits to some of these countries have shown that the nomadic peoples are still there.  However, life to some degree has been changing.  Despite the difficulties, these peoples seem happy when not faced with famine or war and their byproducts.

While we are not looking to sell carpets as they are sold by professional dealers, we do have a commitment to ourselves to use a significant portion of sales should they occur to support the education of children throughout the world.  We are convinced that children everywhere are highly capable to contribute to the betterment of mankind if given the appropriate educational tools and experiences.  However without arts, music, literature, and history, they may never have the exposures that initiate and expand their talents to make this planet more wonderful and peaceful(See page with information on organizations that focus on the education of children around the world).

If you share interest in carpets, especially those made by the nomadic peoples, we would enjoy hearing from you.  To spare all of us time and energy, please do not take this as an invitation to attempt to start a bartering interaction.  None of these carpets was obtained in that fashion.

Booklet:  If you have a desire to obtain a booklet featuring some of the carpets and containing more information on people of the Black Tents, you may send us an email requesting the publication.  It features colored images of some of the carpets and some of the lands and peoples who along with their descendents have lived rich nomadic lives and produced these incredible textiles.

Cards:   The cards will soon become available and examples along with pricing will be posted on this web site and others.  You may order directly from us.  In the near future, we plan to have the cards available in galleries and shops.
